About Sleepy Sue

Who is on your team?

Janelle Ketcher is a midwestern human living in Los Angeles who enjoys exploring creativity, human connection, and end of life.

Janelle has a BFA in Painting, Art History and Social Practice from The Kansas City Art Institute, received her Certification in Social Emotional Arts from UCLArts & Healing and completed her End of Life Training Program at Going with Grace.

In addition to Janelle, we collaborate with artists, cultural workers, and beyond to execute projects and ideas.

Who do you work with?

Sleepy Sue works with a wide range of clients to provide creative solutions. We have enjoyed supporting arts organizations, non profits, private residences, artists, healthcare, and so many more through our unique services.

Please see below to read some kind words from our past clients.

What services do you provide?

Sleepy Sue is an interdisciplinary studio offering art, design, and organization services.

At Sleepy Sue, we have many interests – which is why we offer such a breadth of services! Our projects typically fall under the umbrella of design, creative expression, death work, and organization.

Do you have a need outside these categories? We love projects that exist outside neat parameters – please reach out to us to share more about your project and needs.

Why so sleepy?

Imagine the best nap you’ve ever taken. Taking that time to nap is showing yourself slowness, tenderness, and kindness towards yourself – which are all integral values at Sleepy Sue. You know the feeling of cuddling up in blankets on a rainy day? Or resting your eyes under the sun at the beach? That feeling of comfort and ease is what we aim for with all our clients and projects.

Who is Sue?

Sue is a friend who makes you laugh until your stomach hurts, a coworker who taught you that cool spreadsheet shortcut, or a musician who gets you dancing. Sue is the sister who holds you when you cry, the stranger who smiles when you walk by, or the neighbor who mowed your lawn.

To us, Sue is our mom who taught us to be present, patient, and playful. Sue is the purest love, the smell of sweat on warm skin, and a good head rub.

Let us be your Sue.

What is it like to work with Sleepy Sue?

“I would highly recommend Janelle! She created a logo for Sugar & Sneakers...a new wing of Sugar & Stilettos Charitable Foundation which I founded over ten years ago. Janelle was easy to work with, delivered everything she said she would and when I went back to her several months later to make a B&W version of the Sugar & Sneakers logo she did so right away which was extremely helpful. Janelle can be your go to gal...you will never be disappointed!”
Nanci Christopher, Founder/President Sugar & Stilettos Charitable Foundation

I feel I am able to take on larger projects thanks to her help, she brings me much peace and confidence. She is so thoughtful, thorough, creative and organized! I highly recommend her, especially for those of us creatives that need help collecting and executing creative ideas. I find large projects to be quite daunting and she makes sure it all gets done, a true gem of a person.”
