Description: Join us for a panel discussion on grieving pets and options for pet death care in honor of National Pet Day (April 11th). Janelle, Founder of PSD, will facilitate a conversation with two panelists with expertise in pet death care. Participants will have the opportunity to ask panelists questions and will leave with tips on how to navigate the loss of a furry (or scaly) friend. Can’t join us on this date? No worries! We will be recording the conversation to be used as a future resource.

Panelist Bios:
Melinda Ramos, she/her, CA Licensed Embalmer, Funeral Director Crematory Manager and Pet Death Doula

Melinda Ramos is a CA Licensed Embalmer, Funeral Director, Crematory Manager,  Pet Death Doula, Artist and Griever. She has twelve years experience in the funeral industry. Apart from this, she is the owner of Mourning Pug, and founder of The Pet Griever’s Club. Mourning Pug is a small store inspired by her profession and the grief from losing her mother, pug and grandmother. The Pet Griever’s Club consists of folks grieving the loss of their beloved pets. They meetup monthly to honor their beloved pets through arts and crafts. Melinda is a pet mom to a small black pug named Juelz and to an angel pug, Eli. She enjoys watching wrestling and attending Sound Healings with Juelz. On her days off, she’s either at a thrift store or drawing.

Lauren Seeley, she/her, Death Doula for humans and pets, Illustrator, and Logistics Specialist at Compassionate Care Pet Aquamation

Lauren is a Death Doula for humans and pets, an Illustrator, and a Logistics Specialist at Compassionate Care Pet Aquamation who resides in Brooklyn, NY. Her areas of interest and studies are around both pet and human End Of Life, as well as End Of Life Memory Care and Green Funeral and disposition Practices. Lauren is an avid reader, and the facilitator for Silent Book Club Of Death Brooklyn Chapter. She is also a Hospice volunteer specializing in visiting patients receiving end of life memory care. She enjoys nature as well as ritualistic intention in her daily life. She is originally from Portland, OR, but has lived on the east coast for 5 years now. Lauren is a mom of three and a pet mom to two cats and one bird.
